Yeah. I find that picture helpful in clearing pretty much all thoughts from my head, good or bad. Umm...so, topic? Anyone got one? I'm in the midst of finals and last papers, so I'm tapped.

LOL, that it does Elphie.
I can only imagine how Eric would freak out if he knew there was a picture loating around of him like that., LOL
Like, if he and Ariel were some how sent to modern times and a model who looked like him did photos like that and they were everywhere. XD
Ariel laughs: I know that butt!
Girls: Oh my god! It's you from the ad!
Eric: No! That's not me! I swear!

Well, I sort of have a topic, since we were on the subject of rping if that's okay: So I play Eric in this RPG. Of course, he's pursuing Ariel, but he's not the only contender. He has to deal with..Peter Pan( I'm gagging as I type this ). I'm not quite sure what to do with him since Ariel's crazy about the flying boy Any one have any ideas? I'm not sure what Eric would do if he had to "compete" for Ariel's affections.

Oh gawd! That's awful. I'll have to wait until the shock has worn off before I can offer any suggestions.

It is rather surprising. I mean...Peter..Pan. You'd rather have Peter Pan than Eric? But the story was they were..dating..( I cannot use Peter Pan, Ariel, and dating in the same sentence ). I was able to end that XD, but now Ariel misses Pan who doesn't seem to remember her. But she still..likes..him. So Eric comes along and they dance and it seems as if Ariel's falling for him. I had him go get shipwrecked and Ariel rescued him without any singing( again, because of her being..attached to Pan ). But that's pretty much the background. Now I have to pour myself a cup of brain-bleach. ::runs off to watch TLM::

Also isn't Peter Pan like eternally twelve years old? So what is whoever's RPing Ariel planning? But independant of that knowledge I say go with this: tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/IWantMyBelovedToBeHappyHave Eric tell Ariel that le loves her very much, but part of the reason he loves her is because she follows her heart, wherever it may lead, and that if it's leading her towards someone else, he will respect that. Thus Ariel can either realize she wants him after all or commit to Peter and leave Eric free to find love with someone *cough*saner*cough* else. If it's the second-good alternative romance prospects (assuming they're not already attached) might be Belle, Jasmine, or Meg.

See? I don't see Ariel wanting to be with anyone else as long as Eric existed, and vice versa. Which is a HUGE reason when me and Mandy were writting OWC that we decided to leave Ariel and Aladdin out, since it would be OOC for Eric and Jasmine to be a couple. Why don't people realize this stuff when writting fanfics? ::needs more brain bleach::
Plus, it's so weird, sine Peter Pan just seems like such a boy, and not Ariel's type. Sorry! I know Ariel, and that's not right LOL

Oh I agree completely.
I had to decide that this was clearly an Ariel who had hit her head as a child before I could even formulate a possible response to the situation.

I don't see why Ariel would want to be with someone besides Eric either, but apparently the flying boy( I can't say his name without cringing XD ) was the first human she saw. But obviously Ariel is A: Drunk, B: Crazy C: Delusional..the list goes on..I mean, I think she'd realize that since Pan can't grow up, she obviously can't be with him. Plus, for this to be in character, Pan wouldn't want a relationship with anyone--he's just too immature. Besides, it's way too hard to picture Ariel hitting on a twelve-year-old boy. But apparently the person who plays Peter thinks he can grow up at will..meaning he can grow up to be with Ariel( physically impossible *cough* *cough* ). Anyway, she just met Eric and it's going to take time for him even to try to win her over--which is really hard for me to plan because in the movie he didn't even have to try If this doesn't work I'm probably not going to have him find someone else--I can't really see him with anyone but Ariel. I'm not too crazy about the "Just Friends" thing either--him being treated like Flounder or Urchin? That's just wrong. But you're right, he would let her go, even if she is insane.

Yikes again! Who is the mod there anyway? I mean Mandy (although great!) is VERY perticular about characterization on Fant. Some people have complained, but I say if you're going to complain about characters being played CORRECTLY, then find another site. Which I guess there are ones to be found. Sorry but this premise you're apart of (as you know) is WAY too far fetched to work. One thing about Ariel and Eric's relationship is that people around them didn't understand why they were in love, which is REALLY ironic to me that people some how think they know the characters better than what they were or wanted. Bleh. But if it comes down to it. I'd vote for Jasmine If Aladdin's not in the picture that is! LOL Can you link this site? It sounds too awful to be true.

I know. I'm not a fan of crossover pairings when anyone involved has a canon living love interest. I'm not sure how this RP is constructed (one big thread or lots of small ones) but I was only suggesting that as something your Eric could do as opposed to getting involved in that lame love triangle.
My main point is if whoever's rping (I accidently put an 'a' in there and had to backspace. Freudian slip typing anyone?) Ariel and Peter want that relationship to go forward, there isn't really anything you can do about it, so you might as well remove Eric from a fruitless situation.
You could let him have an adventure with Jack Sparrow or something if you want to avoid romance, but my point remains the same.
Hope that helps.

Yeah, you really don't need this LAME and OOC thing. It's just TOO stupid and once again people interjecting their OWN opinions and thoughts into a character. What's the point of an rp if you're going to play yourself?
But I think Elphie's advice is the way to go. I'm sad to say, I but I think I might give up Eric at Fantasmic. It makes me sad, but life is getting hectic. So you would have a WONDERFUL and in character Ariel there (aka Kelley or Aquanut here)

I'm on Fantasmic too! I just got accepted as Meg But anyway..here's the link: www.disneydreams-boards.org/viewthread.php?tid=5031&page=315I don't think you'd want to read through 315 pages of this XD, but the whole story is that they're in high school and they were at a party, which Eric attended with Ariel, and then the next day Eric goes sailing and gets shipwrecked. I hope you don't mind my saying Eric was from Italy--I got that idea from you I may end up giving up on Eric..I mean he's kinda fun to play since he's fun to write about, but I'm sure I can do that somewhere else.

I read your Meg profile and I was really impressed And from your thoughts on this board I can see he'd be in good hands you, since I couldn't just hand him over to anyone LOL And I do not mind at all that you used Italy as his home country It just fits with the look and feel from the movie, even the film makers said it was a Mediterranean area. the HC Anderson one, although I LOVE it just isn't the same to me. I mean, Eric ; with that dark wavy hair, and those thick eyebrows, not mention the olive tones in his skin- is Scandanavian? Ha! LOL

Thanks I haven't posted yet, because I'm still in Eric mode, but hopefully I'll be able to think of something this week. I agree about the Italy idea. I had always thought his castle looked Mediterranean, and so does Eric. My first thought was Greece, but I like Italy better.

-stumbles- I'm baaaack!
I poked in a couple of times on the way home today (wasting cell phone minutes FTW!), but now that I'm in my house and freshly showered--lovely after 10+ hours in a bus--I can post!
Boy, do I regret forgetting my drool bucket. And my brain bleach. I don't think I've ever needed both of those at the same time...
I think we've had this discussion before, but I agree that Italy fits as his home country. Personally I don't think you have to assign his kingdom to a specific place; it's just some imaginary land like ItalyDenmarkFranceEngland.Only with a prettier name. XD Itamarkanceland...nope.
New topic: If Disney (or some other company, I suppose) did the impossible and made a movie starring Eric, what would you want to see or what would you want to happen in it?

Yes, I just love the sense of family, warmth, and culture that is associated with Italy. Oh! I had a thought actually about if Eric was the prince of Greece (Yes I'm still sticking with Italy, LOL) But a tie in that could happen is that Eric is the great x a hundred grandson of Hercules and Megara. And he didn't inherit Hercules stregth, but what he did get was his ability to recover quickly. Like Elphie was saying earlier, about that it was really a miracle that he survied those things in the movie. It could somehow cause trama that Eric is the last of a blood line of a once living God. A few things could be built from that.
::drools at the thought::
Well, I'd LOVE if they dove into his background and why he was the way he was. Like his relationship to his parents, if he knew them. How he met Max and Grim. When he began to love the ocean. Why he may have lacked self-worth dispite having things that could easily make a person a giant @$$. LOL

What a timely topic, Zavi! ( and welcome home, btw) My other story that's a secret still is really starting to delve into this very thing that Jodi's brought up. Why Eric is the way he is, what happened to his parents, where did Grim come from, why is he insecure. This thing is really turning into a monster of a story!

I'm in the middle of writing an Eric/Belle fic but idk if it'll be any good. Anyway, that would be awesome if they made a spin-off movie about Eric. Ariel has her own, plus a TV series, so why not Eric? I'd like to see his childhood and his relationship with his father and mother before they died. I'd also like to see how he met Grim and how their relationship sort of evolved into an adoptive father-son relationship. Yet another idea for a fanfiction ::runs off to get more paper::
