Do you think Disney will do anything on it's anniversary? I mean, I'm not so sure, looking at Disneys' direction nowadays, but I've seen them do something in relation to other Disney movies. For them to ignore, possibly, their most successful animated movie, is beyond me.
What are your thoughts?

I'll be surprised if they do. They're going to be busy getting read for Princess and the Frog.

I think there might be some new products and whatnot, but I dunno about a celebration. The Princess and the Frog might consume all the hype. But it all comes down to money, unfortunately.

I wish they would do a re-release of it in theatres. That would be fantastic but first, they've already done that, and second, they're releasing Princess and the Frog at the same time so it really won't happen. Sad day, but that's what I would want.

I'd love for it to be re-released too. I didn't get to go see it last time it was out because of the boycott. My family did participate.

There was a boycott? Can you explain?

It was the Southern Baptist boycott back in the late 90's. Hard to believe it's been nearly ten years now! It did actually have an impact and Disney started telling people when Gay Day is at the parks. That's what it was about for the most part, families not wanting their children to be exposed to that kind of behavior in a family-friendly park.

No offense, but what does that have to do with TLM?

I sort of doubt they'll do anything too. It's sad really. I mean, if you really think about it, their animation department would have failed if it wasn't for this movie. So I think it does deserve some sort of recognition. I do know that they're going to re-release it on Blu-ray but I don't think it's this year. It would be nice if they re-released it in theaters.

Really? I would like to hear more about that please.
If it does get re-released on Blu-Ray, I shall be picking up, especially since I have a Blu-Ray player lol..
I don't think they'll re-release it in theaters, unless it will be a part of this new Disney 3D thing I heard about.

I was thinking about getting one of those when the price goes down. I'm not sure exactly when TLM is coming out, but there's this commercial on like every new Disney DVD that comes out advertising every Disney movie you can think of on Blu-ray( most importantly TLM ). But I'm certain that they will be releasing every Platinum Edition again on DVD and Blu-ray, TLM included.

New bonus features would be nice, but that probably won't happen.

For Blu-Ray they'd probably add some new features (I'm not sure of its capabilities, but I've heard of lots of stuff DVDs can't do) but nothing we haven't heard already.

You heard right, it can hold more space, so more features can be added. A good example is the POTC movies. There are features on there that aren't even on the DVD versions.
Other than looking better, holding more information (thus cutting down disc numbers), and being scratch resistant, they aren't different lol..

I really wish Disney could see all the things people are writing about TLM (in the good way). I would enjoy to see TLM have more features...like I STILL want to know what it would be like if Eric became a merman, even for a moment. I want to know what Melody is like grown up. I would REALLY enjoy it also if they would release TLM as a 3D version, that would be a great idea. Or to re-release the 3-movie pack. I hope they dont lose sight of TLM being popular, even still to this date. I was born just a few months before TLM was released in 1989. =D
