I have a question about avatars. I am no where near as computer literate as others (I turn my computer on and off and hope that it doesn't explode) so I can't make my own but I know that there's a certain etiquette as to how to use one that's been made by someone else. I was just wondering how to go about finding and using one and then how to get it onto my profile, 'cause right now it's very boring.

Most people don't mind avatars they've made being used. There are tons of LJ sites with TLM avatars.
To insert one, you need to have it uploaded at a place like Tiny Pic or Photobucket. To put one on your profile, go to your profile and click on the Modify Profile link. There's a line called "Avatar URL". You put in the URL for your image there, and then go all the way down and hit the "Modify Profile" button.
HTH! Jess and I have uploaded some basic TLM icons now, and you should see them in the drop-down box under Website URL on your Modify Profile page.
