I love Toy Story 3, but I thought the backstory of Lotso and his motives weren't clear. Daisy took him, Big Baby, and Chuckles out for a picnic with her parents. Then, she fell asleep and accidentally left them. When the toys traveled back to her house, Lotso was upset that Daisy replaced him with another Lotso. But why did he get so bitter about it? Jessie didn't become bitter when Emily abandoned her for boys and makeup. In the film, Chuckles brought up Losto's story to explain Woody about the troubles going on at Sunnyside. But what does Lotso's past with Daisy have to do with his cruel treatment toward other toys at Sunnyside? It doesn't make any sense! Note: I have a learning disability so it is really, really, really HARD for me to understand what is going on the movies-even cartoons.

Well in Toy Story 2 Jessie was traumatized by being abandoned, though in a different way. What Lotso is angry about is that he's been discarded and replaced so easily. So it makes him question whether Daisy ever cared about him at all. Especially since he worked so hard to get back to her and it was all for nothing.

What Jess said. Very good summation there.
Jessie wasn't replaced. She was just abandoned.

Well after he was left behind by the little girl, Lotso became extremely, to the point where his mind corrupted, and he didn't want any other toy to have enjoyment of any kind, for the most part.
