I don't know, would they really just bring Ursula back to life? I think that would impact the ending of the first movie. I mean, I highly doubt that would've happened, even if the main plot of the TLM II would've been different.

How would impact the ending of the first movie? I mean, they did it in Kingdom Hearts with all the villains. It happened in Aladdin too, Jafar came back. I just can't stand Morgana. It would be more entertaining for me to see Ursula try and get revenge somehow.

I wouldn't have minded a different villain if they were good at being bad. Bumbling villains are all right, but generally I like my bad guys scary AND entertaining. Also the fact that Morgana is by and large kind of lame makes Ariel and Eric look stupid for being so scared of her.
If there's been a villain with some menace, it would have made their actions a lot more understandable. Take Sleeping Beauty for example. The viewer isn't saying, "Well aren't they overreacting a little?" Heck no! The viewer's going "Hurry and take the kid and run. Run faaaar away. That witch/fairy is freakin' scary".

How would it impact it? Someone coming back to life wouldn't make the previous ending as impactful lol.., of course, that's just my opinion.

True. Although IMO the "I am the sibling of the bad guy you defeated/killed, who has never before appeared or been mentioned" isn't much better.

Honestly, I could think of much worse.

True, but that doesn't change the fact that Morgana was lameness personified in conception and execution. That it could have been worse doesn't make what we got good.

But better than what we could've gotten ;D

Again. IMO The fact that it could have been worse does NOT make what we got acceptable. Batman and Robin could have been worse. Spiderman 3 could have been worse. They both still sucked.
TLM2 is not quite up to that level of badness but a hypothetical worse movie still does not redeem its actual flaws.

It's not so much what she does as what she is. Physically she's very emanciated and weak looking. When we see her spying on Melody she's complaining about not being as powerful as Ursula and messing up trying to turn Undertow back to his correct shape.
She doesn't have presence. She's not threatening. She's not even particularily interesting. Even how she ends up transforming Melody is sooo different from the first film. Its completely softened up. She's Ursula light in every possible sense.

She's a bumbling villain trying to follow in the footsteps of one of Disney's greatest villains. That's always a recipe for disaster in my book. She should have been almost as menacing as Ursula. There was no real reason that made sense for Ariel to be so afraid of her.

Well my main problems with the movie are pretty much: 1) The main plot is very similar, only in reverse and kiddy-fied a bit. 2) It's Melody's story. I would have preffered something more focused on Ariel and Eric. Neither of them had near enough screentime and we didn't get see Eric interact with anyone but Ariel, and far too briefly with Melody. 3) Morgana is a weak-sauce villainess. 4) Ariel repeating her father's mistakes. 5) Most of the songs are not nearly as good. 6) Some of the animation was downright terrible. Like Ariel's huge neck in "For a Moment" That said I don't hate it. I love Melody as a character if nothing else, and Tip and Dash are fun, as is Undertow. "For a Moment" while not "Part of Your World" by any means is a very sweet song. And Ariel and Eric's kiss in the water near the end is just lovely. I just feel like they could have done better. My reasons, exactly!! It's nice that Ariel/Eric had a kid and became parents but I expect them to be twenty times better parents than Triton. I agree, with number 1. I thought the plot was too similar to the first movie only in reverse and a kiddy-fied! Morgana was the most pathetic villian I've ever seen! She's not threatening like Ursula and Jafar, but she's not funny like Prince John. I would have enjoy the movie better if it a completely different original storyline. I like to see Ariel/Eric relationship developing and Ariel adjusting to her life on land. Then, they go to visit Atlantica and Ursula comes back to life so she can get revenge on Eric for murdering her.
