We're going to see it in Little Rock. There are no potential NYC trips in my near future.

I know! We have pretty horrible seats, stage left almost to the back of the balcony, but we don't care. Both of us have opera glasses so it's not a huge deal.
We're going to see Wicked!!!!!!

Wicked was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The cast was excellent, the sets were so cool. I like Dancing Through Life better now that I know what all is going on. Loved all the nods to "lions and tigers and bears, oh my!".
My sis and I both thought this Fiyero was better than the one on the recording. Neither of us care for him or his voice. I am so glad we went and I'd totally go see it again.
For the price of one ticket to see it on Broadway, we had a whole weekend away. Including staying in a hotel only 6 blocks from the theater. We had supper with our cousin and his new wife, we hadn't been able to meet her yet. They dropped us off at the door. The streetlight outside the theater was green! It was very cool.

That's AMAZING! I'm so glad you had such a great time. And yeah Dancing Through Life works much better in the show than just as a recording. I wish the musical interlude with Elphie and Glinda dancing was on it. I'll respectfully disagree with you about Norbert Leo Butz, the original Fiyero though. I liked him as Fiyero on the OBCR and then The Cast Recording for "The Last 5 Years" made me fall in love with his voice and acting.

Wicked is my FAVORITE show I've seen. yes, I love it more then Phantom even xD
I'm curious about who played Yero in your version though, Rachel. I really love LNB's voice, personally though xD

Fiyero on tour right now is Chris Peluso.
Having never seen the original production or the original Fiyero, I'm going solely off his voice on the cast recording. Had I been able to see him I would probably have a different opinion.

No worries Rachel, everyone has their own personal asthetics too. For example I sometimes like a male vocalist with a little bit of rock-like grit in his voice, but not everyone does. If you're interested in getting a small visual sample here are links to two press videos with Norbert as Fiyero. He may just not be your cup of tea, though. I don't mind the occasional rock-like grit either. I love Chad Kroeger from Nickelback. I guess he's just not my cup of tea.
I don't like Sarah Brightman either and I'm not that fond of Michael Crawford either. I'm in the majority with Sarah Brightman, but not MC.

No worries Coral. Glad you enoyed the Fiyero at your performance though.

Michael Crawford doesn't do it for me either, Rachel. I dunno but his voice as the phantom annoys me a little and makes me think of the elephant man.
I tend to like more gritty voiced men too, some songs it just doesn't work for though.
The Yero I saw was Richard H. Blake. He was Roger in Rent at soem point, and Glenn in the Wedding Singer xD

I'm in love with the Phantom I saw in 2005. He was AMAZING. Hugh something.

Hugh Panaro? He's very well-liked. He came back recently and I'd looooove to see him. And here's a link to a video of him singing to a sick little girl with Sierra Boggess on the Today Show. tv.broadwayworld.com/videoplay.php?colid=58500

YES! That's him. I LOVED him as the Phantom. I'd go see something just because he's in it. He was everything I wanted the Phantom to be. Perfectly heartbreaking and perfectly creepy all at once.
