Pirates 4 is official and in filming. Release date is set for May 20, 2011.
I for one am very excited. In the Comic Con preview trailer Cap'n Jack mentions zombies and a mermaid!
No Will and Elizabeth. Barbosa is back and Blackbeard too. They're hunting for the Fountain of Youth.

I heard Megan Fox is going to be the mermaid...........don't know what to think of that lol...
Still, can't wait. The Pirates trilogy (not for long) is awesome, and possibly my favorite trilogy. Definate viewing from me in the theaters.
Of course, it will be most likely be in 3D, like everything else today lol... Still, can't wait.

I'm one of the few people who really doesn't care about 3D xD
I don't think Megan Fox is going to be a mermaid. I heard it was a French actress who's name escapes me. After her bad-mouthing Transformers she got fired plus, I think right now she's been building a more skinky rep as opposed to being more senual
I hope Norry pops up in this somewhere. Who knows though, but I wouldn't put it past the film makers completely

Who knows though, but I wouldn't put it past the film makers completely I think 3D is only good in some movies, like Avatar. However, it's not needed for every single movie, as that seems to be the norm today. You're probably right, it's just something that I read somewhere, and with Hollywood today, I wouldn't put it past them. Heck, Kim Kardashian is going to be Lara Croft in the next Tomb Raider movie, so I don't see why they wouldn't throw Fox out there for Pirates 4. Well if Will and Elizabeth aren't going to be in this (don't see why not), then I doubt Norrington will be in it. Unless they go back to Davy Jones' Locker, but then he'll just be sitting on a little boat with a lantern, drifting away lol..

LOL! yes, it seems like they make EVERY movie now in 3D. As you mentioned Avatar is cool, but I'm just waiting for 'Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants In 3D!' XD
*pouts* But I want him in it D: LOL. Yeah, you're probably right that he's not going to be in it at all. But also the pirate movies can be really random at times and AWE was WAY too kill happy

Norrington is dead....
Megan Fox is listed as the mermaid on IMDB. Take that from what you will.
Will and Elizabeth aren't in it because Bloom and Knightley declined to reprise their roles. I was getting tired of Elizabeth anyway and am quite glad she's not in it. Keira Knightley can't act her way out of a paper bag, for the most part.

*sighs and pours a fourty of rum on the curb for Norry*
I didn't see Megan Fox listed when I looked. I'd still see it with or without her cause I'm a Pirate lover lolz.
I like Kiera and actually think she's more talented then Orlando Bloom, who I don't dislike by any means. But there wasn't much else to do with their story from there...

Exactly, Jodi! There's nothing else they can do with Elizabeth and Will, with him being the captain of the Flying Dutchman. But there's still plenty for Cap'n Jack and Barbosa.

I also heard that Orlando was not asked back, and so they had to let go of Kiera too but that's just something I heard...
The things I've heard about the script seem really iffy to me, but we'll see....

It wasn't a straight movie, where you knew what something was going to lead up to.

True. That's one of the cool things about the pirate movies. I just think sometimes its too random xD
One thing I DON'T want is for Penelope to end up being Jack's 'true love'
*gag* his true love is the sea, people! xD

I don't know how to feel about this. My first reaction was "Yay, more Jack!" but then I remembered my beloved Norry . It's just not the same with that stuffy, sensitive Commodore...

I'm going to play devil's advocate here as someone who is not looking forward to/not planning to see this movie. I really loved the first film, really enjoyed the second, but the third was just a little too convoluted for me. It's almost as if it got sucked into it's own shtick of one pirate betrays another over and over again until it didn't really make any sense. And then, don't get me started on the fantastic Tia Dalma, who's "demise"/"denouement" climaxing in a cascade of thousands of crabs made what kind of sense??? Really? A little much and a little ridiculous. Yes I know, Johnny and Geoffry are on board and that's great, but in the end, a movie should be made when there is a need. I think the third movie ended just fine without really needing another one, even if the events of the fourth movie have nothing to do with the previous three. There's just no need for it. But that's just my opinion for now. I may see the trailer for it, freak out, and wear my pirate hat to opening night; you never know

No, Aquisha. I don't think you're wrong and you're certainly allowed to have an opinion. I LOVED the first. I didn't like the second one the first time I saw it, but when I saw it a couple more times, I realized the second one was a better movie then I origanally thought. The last one didn't do much for me. I just thought some things as you said, were a bit over the top and redundant. Over all I love the franchise cause it has things about it I like. if that makes sense xD I'll go see it for sure, that blasted Johnny Depp had to be so dang good looking

There really is no need for it. But the reality is the franchise is a cash cow and Disney knows it.

Norrington could have come back as another kind of creature in animation as a dangerous but still smooth dobharchu(mythological Irish sea otter designed by one of my deviantart friends)http://ChiboaTheRat.deviantart.com/art/The-Beast-of-Pirate-s-Bay-181915766

In September I witnessed director Rob Marshall shooting one carriage scene with 4 military extras in San Juan, Puerto Rico while Johnny and Penelope were at Fajardo, Puerto Rico shooting the ending of Pirates 4. During the filming which lasted from 3pm to 7pm, I got the chance to talk with one of the writers of the trilogy, Terry Rossio.
