This is why I never tell anyone that I like Disney. I told a girl that TLM is my favorite movie and she hurt my feelings by saying how Ariel is a bad role model because she "did it for a man." I tried to tell her that it's not true and that Ariel could always visit her family on the holidays but she didn't believe me. So yeah, my feelings were hurt. I mean hey, whether you like ariel or not, you have no right to tell me how "bad" she is. It is not nice to hurt people's feelings by badmouthing about their favorite cartoon character, especially a Disney character. I try liking the other disney girls didn't appeal to me as much Ariel did.

That was very childish of that girl.
I'm 27 and I proudly wear my TLM shirts. I have four. Three from Hot Topic and the one for the musical.

Gawd, I can't stand people who tune out other opinions. Its alright if people jsut aren't into it. But to act like everyone who does is dumb and how you're SO much more superior just ticks me off. You should have just told her she needed to grow up and not pay attention to it if she hated it so much. Or a better idea would have been to try and look at it from someone elses' POV  |

Never be afraid of expressing what movies, or anything at all, that you like. I mean, look at me, I'm a guy, and I openly say I loved TLM, and that it is one of my favorite movies of all time. If I can do that, anyone can. |

You're right. I should have never let people put me down for liking TLM. I will try not to be offended or be crushed when people tried to discourage me from liking Disney.
EDIT: I think another reason people bashed TLM was all because some Broadway theater closed down the Beauty and the Beast stage production to make way for the TLM stage production. I agree that the BatB play was a lot better than the TLM play but that is still not a good excuse for them to detest a disney movie just b/c of that. People seriously need to grow up.
