So, who is your favorite disney villian.
Mine would be Ursula, Jafar, and Gaston.
I like how Gaston first started out as just an annoying neighbor and then becomes truly wicked when he learned that Belle is in love with the Beast.
Ursula and Jafar are the first two villians that are trying to hurt the heroine's father rather than the heroine herself. It was interesting seeing them trying to put their evil plans into action by using the heros and heroines as their puppets until Ariel, Jasmine, Aladdin, and Eric both broke off and kicked Ursula and Jafars' bottoms. They also, had a good reason to be evil which is they want power, they felt like they are not getting respect from the heroines' fathers. Other villians hate the good guys for silly reasons like desire for the heroines' beauty.

I'm holding my judgment on this call until I watch an hour and a half of Dr. Facilier. He seems like a pretty good villain to me.
This isn't biased at all (right), but Ursula's up there. She's completely accepted her villainy, but she's not a "Muahahaha!" villain either.
Frollo is made of win. I'm not Frollo fangirl enough to call myself a Frollophile, but I love him dearly. Scar, too.

I honestly can't vote today. It changes all the time. Like Mare, I really want to see how Dr. Fasilier does. He appears to have all the makings of a classic Disney villain, and if he lives up to the hype in the trailer I could see him becoming my new favorite.

Okay, I'll admit it--I'm biased. I'm going to go with Ursula ( big surprise ) because she can balance out her evil-ness. I mean, she has reasons to be evil--her banishment, wanting the trident, etc. She's not just "muahahaha I'm gonna kill you all because I can!" She really doesn't get that way until the end of the movie, but even so, she's a villain with a purpose. I can't wait to see Dr. Fasilier as well.

Clayton! Why didn't I remember Clayton?! He's an even bigger jerkface than Gaston and I'd never want to be around him (then again, I wouldn't want to meet Frollo either), but I *love* that man. I love how he feels like he can control the jungle when it controls him in the end!

Wow, hmm, There are a lot of good ones. Ursula is made of win, she doesn't seem brainlessly evil for no apprent reason. She a really good reprisentaion of what *is* evil. When Ariel first went to her for help, she acting like the whole time that she just wanted to help her. How much easier for the "devil" to make their move with you thinking they're on your side... Hades! ANother great one! Not just because he has James Woods voice either. Again, like Ursula, he is very likeable and fun. I love what a fast talking wise @ss he is, like a used car sales man XD I think when Meg would have sold her soul he would have given a similar vibe in "being on her side" Gaston amuses me greatly, who i actually didn't see as pure evil til the end of the movie. I could go into a spiel about Frollo and Jafar too XD I have to adit, I'm not crazy about Malificent. Imho, she could't keep track of Aurora in sixteen years. She left it up to the goons. Bad management skills . Besides, what did she really have to gain by killing Rory? Not only that she just promised Aurora would die on her sixteenth birthday, not actually set it in stone "For the first time in sixteen years... I'll be able to rest..."

I can't name any villains I dislike off the top of my head. Morgana and Marina, maybe, but I don't tend to count sequels. I love the villains who aren't 100% evil, but are creepy/seductive at the same time. Ursula and Frollo for the win! I'm caught with the Frollo/Esmeralda disease. -runs away-

My top's gotta be Hades, Ursula, and Yzma XD LOL i pretty much only like Villains who can pull of the being evil but still "snarky" (*winks at Jess*) and hilariously awesome. =3 Hades is just the bomb to me though because imho his personality's so great XD and i feel like he's pretty good at being a villain LOL because even though Herc ruined his chances at first by gaining back his strength and helping his dad get back Mt. Olympus and all, Hades still said OH WHATEVER FINE I'LL JUST KILL MEG. i feel like ordinarily the villain would be like ugh and it'd be the end XD but he packed an extra punch! =D so he gets brownie points. fourth would be Captain Hook XD and fifth errrr hmm i don't know. i guess...PRINCE JOHN! =D i also like Wiggins, but i don't know if he'd be considered a villain just for working for Ratcliffe XD doubt it. he's worth a mention though =3 i'm sorry, but i don't like Frollo XD he's TOO CREEPY *shudders* as is Ratcliffe. brrrr. they give me chills XDDD Jafar also gave me the idea that he has an ick factor when he called Jas "pussycat" D=

I can't believe I missed this topic! My favorites would have to be... Zira: I know she just seemed like crazy female version of Scar, but there's just something about her that I found appealing. When she wasn't being a whackadoo or a horrible parent, I thought she was pretty cool. Plus, Suzanne Pleshette made that role her's. Hades: Pretty much for the same reasons everyone else here has stated. It's just so fun to watch him on the screen, and James Wood does such an excellent job of voicing him. Definitely one the funniest bad guys around. The Fearsome Fiver (Bushroot, Megavolt, Quackerjack, Liquidator, and Negaduck): Loved these dudes when I was a kid, and I sttill do. They're great working separately or together. They were funny, but could turn on a dime and pose a serious threat to the good guys. I hated how they had to dumb The Liquidator down over the course of the series. He was such an intimidating and clever villain when he first appeared. McLeach: I haven't seen Rescuers Down Under in a good while, but I remember liking this guy. He was definitely a bastard. Dr. Facilier: Very stylish and entertaining to watch. I would've liked to have seen his motives explained a little more though. Ronno: He might be more of an antagonist then a real villain, but that little brat's arrogance cracked me up. "Stab and jab!" XD I like Shenzi, Mirage, Splatter Phoenix, and Ratigan as well, but I'm feeling too lazy to offer up a long ecplanation other then, "They're cool". LOL, Vidia, couldn't agree with you more about Frollo and Jasmine. That part were Frollo was perving over Esme sniffing her hair and stuff called for a shot of mace to the face.

Now that Tangled has come out, how do you guys feel about Mother Gothel? I thinks she's one of Disney's best villains in recent history. She's fantastic just because she's so multilayered and under her sweet facade is clear, plain *abuse.*

GOTHEL!!
I loved her. She was sharp, manipulitive and just so fun to watch and that voice, one of my favorite voices in a Disney movie actually, and that's saying something. She wasn't all evil, she did raise Rapunzel and go get her things, she loved her in her own really really messed up way. In the end though she loved herself most and that was her undoing.

Ok, so Yzma...
I can't say enough about how wonderful she is. Maybe it's because my director in college looked eerily like her, I don't know. I just love how she suffers through Kronk and Kuzco and all the other incompetent people around her. And of course the late great Eartha Kitt was just too divine!
Hades! James Woods, you are a legend in this movie. So smooth talking and horrible and hilarious all at the same time. His scene with The Fates alone is classic but add the "Uh, guys...Olympus would be that way" and you've got yourself a villain for all ages!
Those are the lighter villains. I think for real just evil, truly mean spirited villainy I'd have to go with (in order) Lady Tremaine, Scar, and (drum roll)...Judge Doom. Lady Tremaine is just a jerk. The look on her face as she locks that poor girl in that room crying....wrong. Scar is just evil. He killed his brother and wanted to kill his nephew and then allowed the poor cub to think that he KILLED HIS OWN FATHER! That's stuff worthy of a fiery pit. Then there's Doom. I know, it's not a totally animated movie but through my childhood, I could not watch the last part of Who Framed Roger Rabbit. When he says the whole "Remember Eddie? When I killed your brother, I talked in a voice JUST LIKE THIS!"...chills. That was a stone-cold demented character, and Disney doesn't do out and out disturbing often, but when they do it's, well, disturbing. So that's my vote.
(And yes I adore Ursula, but I've never really been afraid of her. I kind of want to go out karaoke-ing with her; just a few cosmos and some well-placed Donna Sommers songs and I think we'd have a night!)

Ursula never quite scared me much as a child, but that was due to me being a really odd child. I liked scary things like snakes and crocodiles and probably wanted to play with Shere Khan. I do adore every scene she's in, though. Her movements are so fluid and everything about her just reeks slimy sophistication. I heard the Howard Ashman demo of Poor Unfortunate Souls yesterday and fell in love again. <3

Oh hahaha, Paige! That sounds like an amazing night out to me I could see her hitting on the young hot guys too xD I haven't seen Who Framed Roger Rabbit in a LONG time but yes I remember him and the "Dip" and its SO creepy 0_o Also, I have to say I like Beckett. I mean, he took over an entire country with no magic! That is skills. He's like Frollo minus the creepy sexual frustration and insane dogma, he does things for his own reasons. He doesn't care about being moral, like at all. He doesn't want to get his hands dirty but he will find a way to take you out if you cross him. I have to say the more and more I see the sequels the more I like him. He's just the man who wants to sell the most cheeseburgers at the end of the day xD. Its not like he hated the pirates cause he found them immoral, he just hated how inconvenient and dirty they were. I love Tom Hollander too.

Beckett was an excellent addition to the Pirates cast, IMO. He saved At World's End for me.

Bleh, AWE is my least favorite of those movies, this far anyway. I agree though he was bomb in AWE. Davy Jones, I liked him so much more in the second one, where he wasn't like an old man yelling at kids to get off his lawn
