Waaaay back in the EE thread we had a giant music library going--it's awesome to hear the songs everybody likes to pair with TLM. What're everyone's favorites?

"Thank You For the Music" - ABBA
"Someone's Watching Over Me" - Hilary Duff (this is mainly due to a really good TLM3 music video xDD)
"Breakaway" - Kelly Clarkson
"Love Story" - Taylor Swift
"Do You Believe in Magic?" - The Lovin Spoonful
"I've Just Seen a Face" - Beatles (But I have the Across the Universe version too xD)
"Kiss the Girl" - Colbie Caillat (the best cover of this song!)
And there's also a few Sweeney Todd songs....but that's more of an inside rp with Frida and Jess xDD

Hmm, I was thinking of this as well. I don't know the names of some of the songs, but I know two of them are Madonna songs. When I figure them out, I will post them.

Love Story's an overplayed paint-by-numbers love song, but I totally love it when it's attached to TLM. It's a curse. XP I had a field day when I discovered the Scarlet Pimpernel musical, especially She Was There and a couple others. The fact that Broadway!Beast sings a couple numbers is a huge bonus, of course. And pretty much every decent Trading Yesterday song. The band died but a couple TLM fanvideos have been made. I love them to pieces.

"Because You Live"--Jesse McCartney--I saw an Ariel/Eric fan vid with this song and I was literally bawling at the end XD.
"Far Longer than Forever"--The Swan Princess--I heard this song and it immediately made me think Ariel and Eric.
"Let Me Be Your Wings"--Thumbelina--First of all, Jodi Benson was singing it, which automatically made me think of Ariel XD, but I think it fits Ariel/Eric.
"As Long As You're Mine"--My friends just got me interested in Wicked, and I'm in love with this song. Of course, being the huge TLM fan that I am, I had to think of Ariel and Eric.
And "Love Story" makes me think of them as well.

I have some really random songs that remind me of TLM but, here we go:
"Brandy (You're a Fine Girl)" - I love this song and it's a bittersweet version of Ariel and Eric.
"Angelina"- This is a Harry Belafonte song that I have a whole TLM music video envisioned for. Sebastian sings the song on the beach as Ariel sees Eric's ship coming in and we watch as Ariel runs through the kingdom, disrupting things but yet still being adorable as she makes her way to the docks to greet him.
Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes)- I just think this song perfectly describes Eric's feelings about Ariel! Plus this song is just so much fun!
I feel like there are more than that, but for now, that's my list.

Okay, so maybe this is just me fawning over a new song, but Red's "Never Be the Same" fits right in with Eric wondering about the mysterious voice. An excellent fanvideo made me discover the overflowing Ursula-ness in Breaking Benjamin's "Had Enough". Warning for strong language, but I'm now obsessed with this song.

I could *so* See Ariel singing this to Melody.
And by the same artist, this, makes me think of Ariel and Eric.

Jess, I LOVE Vienna Teng. I never thought of pairing those songs with TLM, but I can see it now!
The opening lyrics of Marie's Wedding make me think of Ariel dancing with Eric. It has nothing to do with TLM (I'd be a little concerned if Eric's kingdom feasted on herring) but gawd, it's catchy. I had it stuck in my head for at least a week. Step, we gaily and we go...
Look! Irishmen!

Both of the Vienna Teng songs are beautiful! And Marie's Wedding is awesomely catchy.
I think Zavi brought it up in the EE thread, but this song fits Eric and Ariel perfectly.

Noooo! Melissa, you're getting me re-addicted to that fanvid! -watches-
Celtic Woman's "Send Me A Song" conjures images of Ariel and Eric for me. It's pretty fitting if Ariel sang this to Mel, too!
I know I mentioned Trading Yesterday, but only a couple of their songs are actually fanvideos! This song seems perfect for our favorite couple:
"She is the Sunlight"
She lives in a daydream...
I am ADDICTED to this band. They're made of awesome, as is this fanvideo:
"Shattered". Best Trading Yesterday song ever. You haven't lived until you've watched this--I was so inspired that it's practically my fanfic's theme song. XD The actual song is longer, but the meaning remains.

That is awesome, Mare. Vid and song. I need to listen to more of this band, really like their sound.

I do admit that song is really addicting! I love Celtic Woman. And "Send Me a Song" definitely fits Ariel/Eric. I like the two Trading Yesterday songs a lot too.
I mentioned this before, but this fanvideo is really awesome.
"Because You Live" Jesse McCartney

-is pelted with beams of nostalgia-
If you like Trading Yesterday (and really, what's not to like?), try Tenth Avenue North:
I want to say "Beloved" is Ariel/Eric-y, but it's a pretty generic Christian love song, so it fits with pretty much anything. Not to say it's an unoriginal song, but you could tie it to a lot of things.
"Beautiful" - Trading Yesterday I don't like this song/vid as much as the "Shattered" one, but this band is so epic that it's worth linking anyway.
And onto the subject of Celtic Woman, my fangirlishness obligates me to link to "Someday":
Ariel's perpetual optimism just oozes from this (Alan Menken!) song.
And another one! I know I mentioned there was a vid to this somewhere, and...hmm... Oh! Here it is.
"Annie's Song" - John Denver Hick that I am, I love this man. He was a huge environmentalist and my mother (country bumpkin to the core) loves him.

All of the songs are beautiful, and I really like "Beautiful" as well. I can't decide between that one and "Shattered"! I anticipate my iTunes library expanding very soon XD. Is it true that "Someday" was supposed to be in Hunchback of Notre Dame? The instrumental sounds exactly like parts of the score in the movie. I'm not that much of a folk person, but "Annie's Song" was wonderful!

Hate to burst your bubble, but Trading Yesterday is dead. They broke up in 2006 or so. The good news is that one of the band members was kind enough to offer their songs online since no one will be able to buy them. Here (More than This and The Beauty and the Tragedy): www.albumbuzz.com/hodges.htmlYes, "Someday" was a cut song from HoND. To be honest I don't really like Heidi's demo, but since it was only a demo, meh. The staging wasn't too good either. "God Help The Outcasts" was a much better fit, and Heidi rocks in it. Love the key change at the beginning, though.

I love free! Thanks, Mare. I have to drive to Hattiesburg tomorrow, which is 30 minutes one way, and I'll have new music!

Free is good, indeed. How'd you like them?
I can't believe I haven't posted this one yet. I was driving home from the Audubon Society and this played on the radio, and I was reminded! I listen to the country station ([/dork]), but this isn't too ear-piercing for general audiences. (:
"Wild at Heart" - Glorianna
"Remember You" - Steven Curtis Chapman
