We have foliage weekend over here, in which tourists gather and locals retreat to the least busy places. WTF is up with Moose tours? Seriously! Go to the water at five/six in the morning!
I totally chastise my friends that have never seen moose, despite the fact that they live around here. Bears, too, but most people have seen them around.
SHRIMP! -dives-
Seafood lover here too. Despite my proximity to Maine, I've never had lobster though. I'll try it once I have the opportunity. BUT SALMON. I love salmon. Salmon and shrimp are my favorites. Da Shrimp was a villain, so my conscience is clear except for the fact that there is flounder in my fridge. Sssh! Don't tell Ariel!

I saw a real flounder fish on my cruise last summer, swimming along. We went snorkeling while we were docked in Cozumel. It was incredible!
The Sam's Club where my parents live sometimes has these stuffed salmon fillets. The stuffing is rice and shrimp! They are *divine*.

I remember watching a documentary with flounder in Zoology. They were--well, this was a Zoology class! Fill in the blanks.
They weren't as bizarre as the flatworms, but I heard a voice from the back of the class: "All I can think of is Flounder from The Little Mermaid..."
Still love that class, though. We stayed under the sea until the tail end of the semester, so we went through the whole TLM cast. Literally. Squid dissections, anyone? One of the questions on the assignment was to write your name in squid ink. Ariel would be ashamed of my penmanship. XD
Salmon fillets? -drool- I'm hopeless at cooking salmon myself, but it's good everywhere I go. Especially DC. Simply amazing. This state isn't known for any foods besides maple syrup (but how lovely that maple syrup is). It's the states surrounding us that have all the goodies.
