I'm back! The interview went pretty well (I think) but I'm still nervous about getting in.
In other news, one of the turtles at the Audubon Society needs to get induced! She's been pregnant for a while and since there's no males around, she can't lay her eggs. We gave some of the raptors their showers today (you spray them with a spritzey hose--the bald eagle really likes it and it's fun to watch him) since it was so hot out. It was a busy day today, and now I'm tired!

That's what I said. Apparently the procedure goes the same way as with people, but I don't get all this turtle stuff! What happens when they can't find males in the wild? But she now has five healthy, unfertilized eggs, which would have caused a lot of trouble if she was left as she was.
You learn something every day, I guess.

Hey guys! Gonna be leaving for a week's vacation on Momday. Spending a few days in Miami, then a four night cruise. And the best part is when it's done I'll FIINALLY be able to be more active!

I'm going away for a couple days to Maine (college visit--whee!). We were going to leave this afternoon, but the weather's been funny so we're taking off Wednesday and will be back late on Thursday. The snow situation now looks meager up north, so I shouldn't be stranded on Friday. *knockonwood* I'll be wicked busy Friday so I might not post then, though.

I'm off on a journey again!  This time it's Columbia University for a journalism conference, so I'll be in NYC for a couple of days with Mal-incarnate and a few others. Aaand then after I get home I have the pleasure of doing tons of homework. The kind that I don't finish on the way there/back. Yaaaaaay. *dead* |

Hey guys, bar a slight delay, we're headed safely to NYC. There's been massive rain and flooding around here and a lot of houses have been damaged, so emergencies abound--Mal's house got hit pretty hard, but besides being a little sleep-deprived everything's okay. He made us cookies! They were yummy. So everything's going as planned for the next couple days and we have to run on a weird schedule today because of the delay.

Was an idiot and scheduled layout for the lit mag at the exact same time as the newspaper. If I survive, I'll be back on Friday. Will be gone Saturday and some of Sunday too.
