She said this in her MySpace before and Playbill has announced that Chelsea Morgan Stock, who understudied for Ariel and played one of her sisters since the premiere, will take over the role.

Elphie saw Chelsea a couple weeks ago and said she was phenomenal. I'm glad they're leaving Ariel in good hands.
Any idea what Sierra is doing next?

That's what I've been hearing too. That she'll be originating the role.

I've long thought that most Christines on Broadway are a little too harsh in their interpretation of the character. I despise Sarah Brightman and think she butchered Christine. I will buy probably buy the cast recording of this new one just to hear Sierra as Christine because I think she would be my favorite. Christine is young and naive, not mature and aggressive.
However, I have major problems with the plot, since I'm a huge fan of the book first and foremost. Christine would never marry the Phantom and she never truly loved him. It was obsession pure and simple.

She was never aggressive. My jaw dropped when Jennifer Hope Wills was portraying her like that during "Past the Point of no return" in the performance I saw 2 Xmas holidays ago.

I can't remember the name of the Christine I saw. And that Playbill is in Laurel, MS so I can't go look it up either. She was good, but I thought she was a little old.

No, I hadn't seen that. Would love to see the whole thing. Sometimes I really wish I didn't live so far off the beaten path for Broadway stuff.

Oh, lord! I'm really bummed, I wanted to see her as Ariel SO bad. Now it doesn't look like I'll get too. But I'll take your word about Chelsea. If Sean leaves that'll really suck if I didn't get to see him. But for the love of Poseidon PLEASE don't make the actor blonde!

I saw Chelsea in January and she was great! I really wanna see Sierra before she leaves though! I know I won't be able to...she's the best Ariel in my book!

Sierra was really great as Ariel. She captured her completely, especially in Act Two when she's lost her voice. As for Sean, I know you love him Frida, but I actually would like to see someone else's interpretation of Eric. I don't know, when I saw it, Sean's portrayal seemed a little forced, like he was trying to hard to be young and adventurous. But, that's just me. I hope Chelsea does well. Some of my friends who saw her in March didn't like her very much but I haven't seen anything so I can't say (plus those friends are a little theatre-snobby anyway ). I just wish Chelsea the best of luck getting to be the best mermaid ever 8 shows a week!

You know when I initially saw the promotional images of Sean as Eric he didn't really do anything for me, but he won me over when I saw him perform in Feb 2008 and even more last month. I am curious to see what his replacement will be like. I am hoping they cast a little younger, because much as I love him Sean ain't been 25 for awhile.
I'm curious, when did you see Sean as Eric?
I LOVED Chelsea. Sierra is a little better than her during playful scenes and had better chemisty with Sean, but Chelsea was very good during the sadder or more dramatic moments. Overall, right now I'd say Sierra's the better of the two, but I'd be interested to see Chelsea again once she's had time to settle into the role.

LOL! Yeah, 38 isn't exactally 18 (I will stand by Eric being 18 until the day I die!) And I have to admit, it was after I saw him perform on Youtube is when my fangirl got going. When I first saw him, I thought he was cute, but he didn't look like Eric to me. Either way, when the boy goes, I'd like for them to have somebody who's a good actor, not just a pretty boy. If they only went by looks then the man from a nautical ad I saw gets my vote. Anyway, I want to see the show REALLY bad. I just really hope they don't make some mistakes in casting like BatB did in the past ::couAnneliesegh::

Well Chelsea will probably stick around for awhile, and they'll have to cast an Eric to match her age-wise if/when Sean goes, so that'll leave out say, the cast of High School Musical. Thank goodness.
Although if they got Lucas Gabreel I might reconsider, since he can, you know, act.

Lucas Gabreel is cute, but I can't except a blonde Eric. And I have feeling they keep him as a blonde for the show. It's like the Russin BatB show had a blonde Belle ::blinks:: Sorry, but Belle is a brunette through and through! LOL
