So I'm gonna brave some of you attempting to shoot lasers at my head through the interwebs and fess up: I saw Mermaid for teh third time. Chelsea was still adorable, Drew was surprisingly good, and Faith was hysterical.
I'm happy to take further questions if anyone has.

How was Drew's dancing in One Step Closer? Some people say he's better than Sean but I can't wait to see for myself.

He was very good in One Step Closer (although he did have a line flub) and across the board, and I liked him a lot, but I think the bottom line is that he hasn't had as much experiance as Sean has, which isn't his fault. He's younger and hasn't had as many oppurtunities to hone his craft.
Most of what I'm saying comes from the fact that Sean is very very good at silently interacting with the set, props, and other actors (which Drew does do, but not to the same extent).
But I'm happy to say Drew CAN sing legit theater music in a legit theater style and do a really nice job with it too.

Oh good! I'm glad to hear he can carry the part voice-wise. That interview that I posted on TheaterMania said this was his first "real" stage experience and that he was really enjoying it.

I'm glad that you got to see it! I really want to see it with Drew, but that's most likely not gonna happen. It's good to know the role of Eric is in good hands ^^

In what ways does Drew sound different than Sean? Does it give a new kind of air to Eric--something younger or just different?

Definitely younger. There's more of a puppy-dog quality and he seems a little less 'royal' if that makes any sense. Still not as forceful a personality as Movie!Eric. One thing that was cute was that when Ursula came to 'collect' Ariel Drew had this great "What is that thing" expression on his face.
